Our administration departments are here to serve Tribal Citizens with information and access to resources for Education, Environment, Housing, Language & Culture and Elder Services along with several departments that support the day-to-day functions of the Tribal Government. 

Communications

Gun Lake Tribe Communications focuses on providing timely, accurate and complete information to both Tribal Citizens and Tribal Government Staff. The Communications team manages several different communication channels to ensure that impacted parties are receiving details about Tribal programs, events, benefits and anything else that impacts Tribal Citizens on a day-to-day basis as it relates to the Tribal Government. 

Education

The Education Department is able to provide a wide range of services for Tribal Citizens. Assistance includes PreK-12th grade programs, Higher Education, with full tuition payments for citizens, GED Testing Assistance, Employment Assistance and Recreation Funding. Elder Services

Elder Services functions to assist Tribal Citizens 50 years and older. Providing a place for our Elders to always feel welcome and assist them in any way possible. For more information about Elder Services, click here

Environmental 

The Environmental Department serves current and future generations of the Tribal Community through stewardship of natural resources. This department implements environmental/natural resource educational outreach and executes culturally-based conservation projects and services with a forward thinking approach. Finance

The Finance Department ensures proper stewardship of the Gun Lake Tribe’s financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures and controls. For more information about the Finance Department, click here

Grants, Planning & Management

The Grants, Planning and Management Department provides practical and administrative assistance in the form of research, assessment and technical support, in three distinct, but interrelated areas - Planning, Proposals and Grant and Contract Management, which focuses on risk mitigation through monitoring activities. Human Resources

The Human Resources Department balances service and regulatory requirements by ensuring that all employees are provided a fair and professional work environment while giving assistance in employment matters. For more information about the HR Department, click here

I.T. 

The Information Technology (I.T.) department is responsible for establishing, monitoring and maintaining computer technology, and electronic communications (e.g., telephony and e-mail) throughout the Tribal Government. For more information about the I.T. Department, click here

Language & Culture

The Language/Culture Department works to provide Bodéwadmi language and culture opportunities to the membership and community. For more information about the Language & Culture Department and its offerings, click here

Public Works

The primary focus of the Public Works Department is facilities management of all Tribal properties, this includes maintenance and repairs to the buildings and the upkeep of the grounds. Public Works currently manages all properties excluding the Gun Lake Casino, this means the Luella Collins Community Center, Camp Jijak, the Tribal Government campus and the Bradley Indian cemetery. Tribal Historic Preservation Office

Tribal Historic Preservation Office exercises oversight to ensure the preservation, protection, curation, repatriation, and management of the ancestors, sacred objects, archives, archaeological sites, and historic and traditional cultural properties (TCPs) significant to the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. Tribal Member Benefits

The Tribal Member Benefits Department’s goal is to carry out the Department’s mission statement by offering Financial Counseling and Housing Assistance Programs to Tribal Citizens of all income levels. This includes the rental of Tribally-owned dwelling units, Down Payment Assistance, Housing Improvement, IDA, Principal Pay Down, Rental Assistance and a Water & Sewer/Sanitation Improvement Program.
